We take pride to preserve and promote Assamese traditional folk songs and dances by holding a regular certificate course on folk and traditional songs/ dances at MBMMC.
With the same objective, we organized the summer workshop 2019 from 7th July to 14th July 2019.
Like every year this year also we invited a few renowned Assamese artists. This year’s artists list included Pankaj Jyoti Baruah (Mangalasaram), Rupam Bhuyan (Bangeet), Amitabh Baruah (Western Music) and Anil Roy & Arijit Roy (Goalporia and Rajbonxhi folk songs and folk instruments-Goalporiya Dhol & Dutara).
If you wish to apply for the summer workshop, please read the following instructions carefully:
- The minimum enrolment age for the workshop is 4 years.
- There will be no interview and the selections are made based on application.
- An amount of Rs. 15,000 entrance fee for the workshop to partially cover the food and lodging expenses for 5 days is to be paid by all the participants.
- As this workshop is conducted in Assamese a fluent working knowledge in Assamese is essential.
